The mystery of the monolith began in the United States when it was reported that in the middle of Utah they found the metal structure, which days later disappeared without explanation. This was reported by the Utah State Office for Spatial Planning, who cited “Credible testimonies” that the metal structure was removed last Friday and that they did not.
The monolith scene appears to have been repeated in Romania, California, and Russia. The photos that circulate on social networks have led users to spread theories ranging from the sign of extraterrestrial life to the end of all time. But there are also those who think that it is all about a campaign of expectation of a new product that will be released on the market..

In the case of the monolith that was found in the Utah desert, David Surber was perhaps the first adventurer to reach the mysterious structure and used his Instagram account to share some details: “Aluminum, non-magnetic, three pieces riveted together, two rivets are missing at the top”, said.
He also found that the structure seemed hollow and that the trip from the entrance of the desert to the place of the monolith was approximately one hour, between car and a section on foot.
“Awesome trip to the monolith today. Regardless of who built it or where it came from. It was a positive escape from today’s world. Some for many people to join and enjoy together ”, said in another post.
What is a monolith?
The word monolith comes from the Greek and means “a single stone”, specifically like this: “monkey” is one and “lithos” is stone. It is for this reason that it is used to refer to structures or even large and important rock blocks, which in turn can be geological formations or human constructions.

For its part, the Royal Spanish Academy defines the word as: “One-piece stone monument”.
The monoliths have been considered in some cases as monuments that they represent diverse cultures, which establish a habitat, symbolize the artistic and even function for various types of ceremonies. Some of the most recognized in the world are the stone monoliths near the megalithic monument Stonehenge, located in the United Kingdom.
The monoliths that have become viral in recent days are metallic structures and not stone.
