After seeing the children wandering the streets of Ibagué, Jhon took the infants to a CAI. Immediately, the patrols were given the task of looking for the parents or those responsible for the minors. According to the authorities, the agents went to a house that had the door open, but when they tried to attract the attention of the owners of the property, no one answered them.

“The children were taken to the permanent police station on duty in order to guarantee their rights,” said Lieutenant Alexandra Toro, Chief of Childhood and Adolescence of the Police in Ibagué, who added that they were under the protection of a substitute home of the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF).
