A newborn is abandoned on Christmas night in a batch in Valledupar

Two uniformed members of the National Police became heroes on Christmas Eve, when rescuing an abandoned baby in a lot in the southeast of Valledupar. They named the youngest Victoria, considering that it triumphed over human unconsciousness.

At 9:20 pm on December 24, the Cesar capital police station notified the two patrollers of the Children and Adolescents division of the presence of a girl on a pile of stones in a vacant lot in the Panama neighborhood. A citizen had discovered her by listening to the crying, approaching and shining his cell phone on the infant’s body.

The uniformed Víctor Alfonso Marín Fonseca, narrated his first experience in attending a case of abandonment of babies.

He said that with his family father instinct, The first thing he did was take her in his arms and check her condition: He detected that he had scrapes on his legs and that he was reddish, affected by the cold nighttime breeze of the season.

They wrapped her in a sheet, they got into their motorized patrol and from the Panama neighborhood they transferred her to a clinic.
