Duque made an account of the Republican and Democratic administrations in recent years and explained how the relationship has strengthened with each of them.

“I have also met President-elect Joe Biden in different circumstances. I have a friendly relationship with him and I have always seen from him a great interest in Colombia “, highlighted the national president.

“He was one of the architects in the Senate of Plan Colombia, he has accompanied our country in many decisions,” he said.

“I remember when I made my first state visit to the United States, at the beginning of last year. I spoke with him by phone on two occasions, always very interested in Colombia,” said Duque.

But the president also referred to the versions about the possible electoral participation of his government officials in the last United States campaign.

“Sometimes it surprises me when I see attacks on electoral participation.
