Santos’ resignation was confirmed hours later by Grupo Semana in a statement in which it was also announced that journalist Ricardo Calderón leaves the editorial direction of the magazine, a position he had recently assumed.

It is worth mentioning that Santos and Calderón assumed those positions at the beginning of October as part of what that media called a “transformation process” at the time.

In the statement issued this Tuesday night, Week also announced that “The general editorial direction of the Group will be headed by Vicky Dávila and the general deputy director will be occupied by Carlos Enrique Rodríguez, until today director of the magazine Money. After the departure of Santos and Calderón, and the subsequent announcement of the new direction, other journalists and collaborators of the magazine have decided to resign. Among them are the cartoonist Vladdo and the columnist María Jimena Duzán, who also served as director of Live week.

Vladdo posted on his Twitter account: “Starting today (this Tuesday), with great regret but with absolute determination, I am withdrawing from @RevistaSemana, of which I was a collaborator for 26 years.”

He explained that “it is not an easy decision”, but that he made that determination because he considers that, “under the new direction, it is evident that this publication will take a very different course and will cease to be the magazine to which I was proud to belong during most of my professional life. ”

For its part, María Jimena Duzán announced her departure at dawn on November 11. “I am grateful to Felipe López and Gabriel Gillinsky for the support they gave me during the years that I worked in Week“he wrote on his Twitter account.

He also indicated that he will continue working, although he did not give more details about his next direction. “I am going to undertake new projects that I am passionate about. I will be telling you,” said Duzán.
