From the woman’s reaction, it seems that she realizes that the man is going to attack her and tries to run, however, she is hit by the criminal who throws her into the lane and runs over her. “At the close of the operation at the Ciudad Universitaria station, a case of theft was reported to a Recaudo Bogotá official (wound with a knife in the back), it was valued and the suspect was captured”, he assured the transport system through his social networks.
Colonel José Óscar Jaramillo, commander of the Transmilenio Police, assured that, “thanks to the help of the security guards and the timely attention of the National Police, the capture of this citizen was achieved, recovering his bag and transferring this woman to the Méderi Clinic because he has a wound on his left shoulder blade ”.
According to Colonel Jaramillo, the Police have been working on two fronts due to the constant robberies and attacks on passengers of the Transmilenio System in recent weeks. “The preventive front and the dissuasive front. But the insecurity does not stop…. A new act of insecurity in Bogotá occurred in the La Floresta neighborhood. Four subjects got on a SITP bus and assaulted the passengers inside it. The SITP driver closed the bus and activated the alarm to alert the authorities of what was happening. However, faced with threats from the thieves, the man had to open the doors of the vehicle.

Despite the constant cases of robberies or attacks on citizens, the Bogotá Mayor’s Office considered that most crimes have been reduced compared to last year’s figures. The District Secretary of Security indicates that the crime of theft to persons was reduced in October 2020, compared to the figures of October 2019. According to the entity, in 2020 there were 6,804 complaints for this crime, while in 2019 there were 11,332 complaints.
