The Ministry of Labor announced this Friday that it opened a new call in the Family Compensation Funds, so that people who lost their jobs in the framework of the health emergency, can receive financial aid that is part of the support for the unemployed in attention to the pandemic caused by covid-19.

According to the entity, the aid will be granted for three months and will have a value of $ 160,000 thousand pesos.

The Minister of Labor, Ángel Custodio Cabrera, explained that those who wish to apply for aid must have as a requirement having lost their job as of March 12 of this year, and, in addition, they must be classified in categories A and B, and have contributed to the Compensation Funds for at least six months during the last two years.

“Decree 801 of June 4, issued in connection with the State of Economic, Social and Ecological Emergency, decreed by the National Government, establishes this benefit for those unemployed dependent and independent workers“Said the Minister of Labor.

The high official also indicated that the workers who apply for this aid, They must not have been beneficiaries of the Unemployment Protection Mechanism in the last three years, and that the financial aid will be delivered by each Family Compensation Fund in each department.

The Ministry of Labor also stressed that the financing of this economic aid is done through the Emergency Mitigation Fund (Fome) assigned to that portfolio, and that the delivery of these economic aid will continue as far as the Government resources allow. National.

At the moment there are 77,066 million pesos available to serve more than 160,000 new applicants. According to the Superintendency of Family Subsidy, 133,111 people who were still on the waiting list are already receiving financial aid of 160,000 pesos per month for three months, due to the exhaustion of resources, for which $ 62,933,280,000 million were drawn”, Explained the Minister of Labor, Ángel Custodio.

The Minister of Labor also pointed out that these benefits are free, and therefore, indicated that people interested in accessing them should not pay any type of commission or fee for the withdrawal or disposition of the transfers in which they receive economic aid. .

How should you apply to access the aid?

The Ministry of Labor explained that people interested in applying for financial aid must comply with the following steps.

1. Enter the virtual portals of the last Family Compensation Fund to which they were affiliated and fill in the digital form.

2. Present the certification of employment termination as of March 12, in case of being an independent worker.

3. In case of being independent, show proof of termination of the contract.

Remember that, to access the benefit, you must be in membership categories A and B of your Family Membership Boxes. Here we explain each one of them so that you know which one it belongs to.

Category A: Identifies the workers and their family group, whose basic salary does not exceed the two (2) current legal monthly minimum wages.

Category B: It identifies the workers and their family group, whose basic salary is between (2) and four (4) current legal monthly minimum wages.
