(CNN Spanish) – This Friday, the Movement to Socialism (MAS) reported through a statement an alleged attack at the party’s headquarters in the city of La Paz, where the president-elect of Bolivia, Luis Arce, was.
The MAS spokesman, Sebastian Michel, indicated in statements to the media reflected in the statement that a group of people detonated a stick of dynamite inside the party’s offices. There were no injuries.
Michel criticized that the authorities so far have not made a statement on the matter and for not providing security, as he understands, to the president-elect.
CNN has tried to contact the authorities to obtain a reaction regarding the alleged attack without yet obtaining a response.
The Police, for their part, stated this Friday through a statement “that in the MAS campaign house did not explode dynamite but firecrackers.”
The information was attributed to the explosives unit of the Fire Department, according to the director of the Special Force to Fight Crime (FELCC) of La Paz, Alfredo Vargas.
Vargas added that his unit will await the official report to make the technical and expert assessment of the Fire Department and if the case warrants, the investigation will proceed.
The elected president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, will take office this Sunday, according to the Minister of the Presidency, Yerko Núñez.
