Army seizes second largest war material seizure so far in 2020

In an urban area of ​​the municipality of Melgar, a vehicle from a national shipping company was intercepted. It carried approximately 345 kilograms of war material camouflaged among vehicle parts, shipment that was destined for the department of Cauca.

Military Intelligence Work established the claims of the residual organized armed group Adán Izquierdo, of the Western Joint Command, reason for which the development of a joint military operation with the Colombian Air Force was established and coordinated with the Judicial Police of the CTI of the 164th Prosecutor of the Specialized Directorate Against Criminal Organizations.

According to research, the material would belong to this organized armed group that commits crimes in the south of the department of Tolima. The seized material was made available to the 164th Prosecutor’s Office, in charge of carrying out the corresponding judicial procedures.

This same Friday, the National Army managed to capture, through a court order, 10 women identified as members of the Las Juanas structure, at the service of the Clan del Golfo organized armed group.
