The final in the Alto de La Covatilla will be the last chance that the applicants will have to take ownership of the red jersey of the diamond edition of the 75 Vuelta Ciclista a Espaa.
The penultimate stage of the Spanish race will take the peloton from the Salamanca town of Sequeros to Alto de La Covatilla with an itinerary of 178.2 kilometers in which the survivors will have to face the ascent of six scoring ports, the last of them in category special.
The day will run through winding roads that will make it difficult to control the race mainly by the team that defends ‘the red’, the Dutch Jumbo-Visma.
The ascent in the first part of the stage, before kilometer 50, of the port of Portillo de las Batuecas, of the first category and more than 10 kilometers in length, is a clear invitation to break the race for those who want to put on the ropes to the leader.
