For revealing an intimate video that sparked the ‘community of the ring’ scandal, which focused on an alleged prostitution network of members of the National Police, Vicky Dávila will have to pay about 300 million pesos to the members of Senator Ferro’s family.

This was ordered by the 22nd Civil Court of the Bogotá Circuit in its most recent decision, in which declares Vicky Dávila and RCN responsible of the moral damages against Carlos Ferro and his family.

The decision states the following:

“Declare Victoria Eugenia Dávila Hoyos and Radio Cadena Nacional SAS civilly and non-contractual liable for the non-pecuniary damages caused to the other plaintiffs, taking into account the considerations set forth in the motive part of this ruling.”, The court’s decision states.

Next, it refers to the economic condemnation for the that the journalist will have to pay, describing an amount for each of the members of the Ferro family. Carlos Ferro will have to pay 60 million pesos; to Diana Marcela Pineda Rodríguez, 40 million; to Juan Nicolás and Silvana María Ferro Pineda, 40 million for each; for his mother Marina Solanilla Sánchez, 50 million; for Luz Offir Ferro de García, 40 million; and for Jorge Alberto Ferro Solanilla, 40 million.

One of those who reacted to the conviction against the journalist was Martín Santos, son of former president Juan Manuel Santos, who on his Twitter account stated that Dávila is forced to leave his job and not because of persecution of the former president.

“The Colombian justice condemns Vicky Dávila for revealing an intimate video and causing damage to a family. Reason why she is forced to quit her job, not because of such persecution from JMS. The end ”, published Martín Santos.

This is the trill in which, in addition, he publishes part of the decision against the journalist:
