Tulio Gómez, the top manager of America, spoke and immediately caused a great reaction, many of them against the opinion he has about the South American Cup.
The manager of the red box was forceful about the international tournament in which Tolima and Nacional were already eliminated, and from which Deportivo Cali and Junior survive.
“The South American Cup is a second-tier tournament, we have to aim for the Copa Libertadores. God willing that this year we qualify and in 2021 we will be better prepared,” said Gómez in an interview with Antena 2 Cali.
His opinion immediately generated strong reactions in social networks of fans, including America, who deviated from that concept and justified it by saying that it was due to the little knowledge that the scarlet leader has about football.
Tulio Gómez must be reminded that River went up to first, won the South American and walked straight to Libertadores. The Sudamericana may even be a second-tier tournament, but never for those who remain in 4th place.

It will be that Mr. Tulio Gomez would not be interested in a prize of those from that second-tier tournament.
