The Prosecutor’s Office imputed new charges to the police officers Yeferson Fabian Tocarruncho Parra and Wadith Miguel Velásquez García, uniformed men who were part of the investigation that evidenced the ‘Ñeñepolítica’, and who are being processed for illegal interceptions.
The uniformed men had already been charged at the beginning of June for an alleged illegal interception of the phones of five of their comrades in the Public Force.
Initially, they were charged with illegal violation of communications, illegal use of communications networks, ideological falsehood in public document and procedural fraud.
The uniformed men were in charge of the investigation into the murder of Óscar Eduardo Rodríguez Pomar, perpetrated in August 2011, in Barranquilla, which led to legal interceptions that uncovered the ‘Ñeñepolítica’. Those interceptions and the case, the Office of the Prosecutor has indicated, is safe and no irregularities have been detected.

Taking advantage of this case, says the Prosecutor’s Office, and on the instructions of Major Tocarruncho Parra, illegal interceptions and follow-ups were carried out on a group of soldiers who were under suspicion of having taken money during a raid in Cali.
Now, the Prosecutor’s Office imputes them and illegal violation of communications.
In this case, the telephones of two people were illegally intercepted in the framework of a process carried out by the specialized 21 Prosecutor’s Office. The persons intercepted were identified as Dilman Paz Potes and David Brayan Hernández Caicedo.

Although on paper they were identified as ‘The Doctor’ and ‘El Caleño’, members of a criminal organization, the Prosecutor’s Office points out that the first was the president of the Universidad del Valle union and the other was a citizen who did not have nothing to do with the investigation.
The interception lasted a month in May 2018 and was carried out in an Interception Room of the Dijín.
Judge 38 of control of guarantees endorsed the imputation of charges. The two uniformed men did not accept their responsibility for the events investigated and will go to trial.
The two policemen have a house for a jail on account of a decision made by the judge before whom the first indictment was made.
