After the criticism that the mayor of Bogotá has received, Claudia López, for announcing that TransMilenio will go down Calle 13, the president responded and assured that it will not be the same project as proposed at the time by former mayor Enrique Peñalosa.
She was emphatic in saying that this project will serve to decongest one of the most complicated roads to travel.
The TM that we will do on 13th Street is not the same as designed by the previous administration. It will be half the size proposed since the demand for passengers will be distributed with the Regiotram Occidente so that they complement each other and leave another lane to load and another to the bicycle lane.

The western border package that we proposed today optimizes the Regiotram Occidente, integrates it into the Bogotá public transport system, extends and widens Calle 13, ALO to Calle 80 and makes a smaller TM on 13 with cycle path, cargo and complementary with Regiotram

It should be noted that the Western Connectivity agreement is made up of the projects: 13th street extension, 63rd street extension to Cundinamarca, Via Alterna de Occidente, ALO, downtown from Calle 13 to Calle 80 and Perimetral de la Sabana.
