In joint operations, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police captured two of the most serious events that occurred in recent weeks in the department of Cauca.
In an operation on the night of this Monday, a man who would be implicated in the crime of Gustavo Herrera, social leader, businessman and leader of Colombia Humana in Cauca, murdered on October 20
During the procedure in the La Paz neighborhood of Popayán, a cell phone and hallucinogenic substances were seized inside a house.

Herrera was killed after noon by hitmen who shot him four times with a firearm when he was traveling in a car to his work site in Coconuco.
In another operation, there was the arrest of a man known as ‘Chepe’, who would belong to the Sixth Commission of the FARC dissidents, mobile column ‘Jaime Martínez’, an armed group that has criminal interference in the municipalities of Suárez and Buenos Aires in that department and Jamundí in Valle del Cauca.
His capture was carried out in the town of Mondomo, Santander de Quilichao jurisdiction, and he was charged with the crime of conspiracy to commit a crime.

“The judicial office ordered his transfer to a prison as a measure of preventive assurance, ”said the prosecutor.
The massacre that is attributed to him occurred on September 20, in a gallera in the Munchique village, Honduras, when a group of people were talking and occupying two trucks and three motorcycles attacked them with grenades and rifle shots.
The victims were identified as Juan Manuel Mancilla, William Ibarra, Jarrison Balanta, Kevin Caicedo, Víctor Caicedo and Juan Camilo Salinas.

Days later, for these events, the Prosecutor’s Office, together with the Police, captured Breiner Orlando Daza Daza, alias ‘Chuky’, and Sebastián Mestizo Daza, alias ‘Sebastián’, who were also sent to jail.
“These results reaffirm the commitment that has in the matter of clarification of collective homicides ”, said the Director of the Special Investigation Unit, Luisa Obando Guerrero.
