A very close and polarized elections are taking place in the United States this Tuesday, November 3, between President Donald Trump, who is seeking reelection, and former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden.

Analysts expect that due to the large number of people who voted early, some 100 million votes throughout the country, the counting of the votes will be delayed, to define the next president of the country, even until this Wednesday afternoon.

Due to the continental dimensions of the country, the first polling places were closed at 6:00 in the afternoon and the last at 1:00 in the morning, Colombian time.

The winning candidate will have to reach a minimum of 270 electoral votes of the 538 at stake.

6:00 pm: They have just closed the voting in some counties (municipalities) of Indiana and Kentucky, with a total of 19 electoral votes. They are Republican states and Trump is expected to win them easily.

7:00 pm: Voting closes in Vermont, Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, parts of New Hampshire and Florida, and the remainder of Indiana and Kentucky, for a total of 93 electoral votes.

Among the pendulum states, Florida and Georgia are expected to do a quick vote count. Tonight the results should be known.

7:14 pm: Donald Trump will win the state of Indiana, which will bring him 11 electoral votes. At the moment the president obtains 66.4% of the votes, against 31.4% for Biden.
