The Slovenian cyclist Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) has recovered the leader’s red jersey of the 75th edition of the Vuelta a Espaa after winning this Tuesday in the thirteenth stage, an individual time trial of 33.7 kilometers disputed between the Corsican town of Muros and Monte Zaro, the third category high end.
Roglic was the fastest in qualifying and stopped the clock at 46 minutes and 39 seconds, a time of 1 and 10 seconds better than that set by the American William Barta (CCC) and the Portuguese Nelson Oliveira (Movistar).
Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadier), who defends the leader’s red jersey with 10 seconds ahead of Roglic, ended up giving the leadership to the Slovenian.
The Vuelta a Espaa will continue this Wednesday with the dispute of its fourteenth stage, of 204, 7 kilometers between Lugo and Ourense.
