A sanction that can reach 250 million pesos could be paid by the person responsible for the massive party in the San Marino neighborhood, eastern Cali, which was dismantled by the authorities on Sunday night.

“This person will be summoned to the Ministry of Security and Justice, he will have to fully explain what he did. This person had already been previously visited. The fine that may correspond for events that go up to 300 people ranges more or less between $ 90 million and $ 140 million, but in the case of events that have higher coverage, the fines could go up to $ 250 million, “said the Secretary of Security of Cali, Carlos Alberto Rojas.

The party, which according to the secretary gathered between 600 and 800 people, took place despite the restrictions in force during the holiday Halloween bridge in the city, which specifically prohibited “any activity that, due to its conditions, facilitates the crowding of people.”

The agglomeration was denounced to the authorities by the citizens and, “immediately there was a presence of the institutions and this activity was dismantled,” explained Rojas.

The official indicated that during the operations carried out by the municipal administration and the public force during this weekend, the behavior of the citizens was positive, in global terms.

“In general there is compliance with the measures that the administration decreed. We had more or less 14 caravans, all of them were intervened,” he reported.

He added that 29 establishments were sealed for failing to comply with biosecurity regulations and that they met various requirements due to crowds, the most representative events being the case of San Marino and the party of more than 200 young people in Villas de Veracruz.

“Many of these people will be summoned this week to the Secretary of Security with the presence of a Police inspector to explain their decisions, since they are contrary to the instructions of the Code of Security and Citizen Coexistence,” said the official.

After several excesses by Halloween caravans were presented in the city on Friday, the operations carried out by the authorities managed to dismantle these types of situations, as well as parties and crowds, on Saturday and Sunday.

It should be noted that although in Cali no curfew or dry law was implemented, there was a restriction for massive events, parties that could generate crowds and motor vehicles, as well as for the traditional tours of children on Halloween.
