The family experienced a great scare when they discovered the animal. Crocodile appeared swimming in the living room of a flooded house.

The event occurred in Villahermosa, Tabasco (Mexico), one of the towns that has been the victim of a climatic phenomenon.

Due to the floods, the Mexican Army on Friday began rescuing dozens of Villahermosa families.

All were affected by torrential rains after the passage of a cold front that submerged cars, flooded houses, neighborhoods and left part of the population isolated, according to Civil Protection authorities.

Floods

The Tabasco state oil tanker was barely recovering from the floods in the first week of October when in the last few hours it has suffered another emergency caused by this cold front that, with the interaction of a tropical wave in the Gulf of Mexico, has left for 30 hours about 450 millimeters of rainfall, according to accumulated rainfall records in its monitoring centers in Villahermosa.

“The water has practically reached the chest,” Jorge Mier y Terán, General Coordinator of Civil Protection of the State of Tabasco, informed the media.

Tabasco woke up in chaos, and the authorities estimate that the picture could get even more complicated.

In the case of Villahermosa, the state capital, 22 neighborhoods were reported flooded.

One of these neighborhoods was the one that registered the presence of the crocodile.
