It’s about Bersy Yeny Narváez Daza, Álvaro’s sister and his daughter Efigenia Daza Narváez. The third victim was identified as Yamith Ibagué Díaz, the community leader’s son-in-law.
It was learned that a child under the age of five was saved, and is in the home of a relative.
According to witnesses, in the early hours of this Saturday, six armed men who were mobilizing on motorcycles entered the house of these people and shot them indiscriminately.
Colonel Rosemberg Novoa, Commander of the Cauca Police, indicated that a special team was appointed in conjunction with the Prosecutor’s Office to find the whereabouts of those responsible for this massacre.

We deeply reject what happened and accompany the family in this pain
The governor of Cauca, Elías Larrahondo Carabalí went to the area and regretted what happened. He assured that they will take care of the funeral expenses “to be able to take care of the family.”
“We deeply reject what happened and we accompany the family in this pain,” said the president.
These events occur in the same house where, on April 29, the president of the El Vado Community Action Board, Álvaro Narváez, was assassinated; his wife María Delia Daza Rodríguez; his son Cristian Narváez Daza; and his granddaughter, a minor under 15 years old.
For this crime, authorities managed to capture five people. It was learned that one of them, known as the alias ´René´, escaped from the El Bordo Station, where he was detained.
The director of the National Police, General Óscar Atehortúa assured that these crimes are not related to each other.

“The primary hypotheses show that the events that occurred in the month of April were not related to the events presented at dawn this Saturday,” said the general.
At the time of the assassination of the social leader, authorities indicated that one of the hypotheses pointed to one of the captured ones having been extorting the leader and the community and that in an act of courage, Narváez Daza, “exposed them, and asked the citizens who did not pay for extortion. He opposed this criminal activity, and made them visible, for which they attacked his life and that of his family, “Atehortúa highlighted at the time.
The Institute of Studies for Development and Peace (Indepaz), pointed out that this has completed 70 massacres so far this year.
