Tour of Spain 2020 Stage with a tough high finish out of category
5 KM | The front group is reduced and now there are only 10 runners left. But wait because the hardest is still missing and as you advance, more cyclists are going to burst.
The final test for today’s runners is the mythical Alto de lAngliru. With ramps reaching 23.5% in the upper section, it has 7 km that never go below 10%. Take a look at the profile of this incredible climb that will decide today’s race.# lavuelta20 | @lavueltapic.twitter.com/Iss91eZMDS

7 KM | The ascent to Alto de l’Angliru begins to select the favorites and those who will fight for today’s stage. Of course, the cyclists who march ahead, including the leader of the general classification, still do not face the hardest. This is crazy. The battle will be exciting, as it can be a decisive stage.
10 KM | The escape ends and there are several cyclists who begin to suffer. The Jumbo’s work has allowed them to neutralize it. Now I know a battle is coming between the favorites.

11 KM | The cyclists are already facing the ascent to Alto de l’Angliru and, although Martin and Sánchez remain ahead, the escape seems doomed. The differences of both riders in front of the peloton is only 9 seconds and they are already in sight by those of the Jumbo.
14 KM | Last descent prior to the ascent to the out-of-category pass at Alto de l’Angliru. This will be hell for cyclists. The Jumbo takes the lead and pulls the squad to work for his leader of the ranks, the Slovenian Primoz Roglic.
21 KM | The escape crowns the port in Alto del Cordal and it is Martin who returns to do his thing. Cattaneo was second to cross; Luis Len Sánchez third; Gesink fourth and Kuss fifth. The differences against the peloton is now only 25 seconds.

22 KM | One kilometer from the top of the Alto del Cordal, the squad is quite broken, and Froome who launches an attack. The Movistar has completely broken down and now the Jumbo is trying to hunt down the British, who wants to show his best version
25 KM | We entered the most critical kilometers of today’s stage. The ascent of another first category pass begins towards Alto del Cordal. A section of 5.4 km at a 9.3% slope. However, this will only be a warm-up for the legs for the Alto de l’Angliru where it will be the goal of today’s stage.
KM 33 | The escape seems doomed with the devastating pace that Movistar has set. They get 55 seconds behind those at the head of the race who just crossed the intermediate sprint. There is a chasing group that is 15 seconds away.
40 KM | Several cyclists have begun to suffer in the descent of Alto de la Mozqueta. Two falls have already been submitted. Formolo crashed after the rear wheel lost grip and INEOS Attic Andrey Amador crashed as well. His chair seems broken. Fortunately, both are fine.

43 KM | The scene of the escape is getting darker. Movistar has been pulling the peloton at high speed and this has allowed it to get even closer to those who are marching ahead.
49 KM | The first big test for cyclists ends in Alto de la Mozqueta. A tough first-class port that ended up taking Martin, once again, then Perichon, followed in third place by Madrazo, Formolo and Roux. At this point the differences have narrowed considerably and the platoon has reduced the difference to 1:17 ”.

52 KM | Oops! Movistar will start to pull the peloton and seek to accelerate the pace, taking into account that Jumbo Visma kept one quite calm. The Spanish team tries to put them in check a bit and that they arrive more worn to the final ascent, and try to take a victory, because yesterday they escaped with Soler in the final meters.

54 KM | First battle of the day. Esteban Chaves launches an attack with De La Cruz, Arensman and Oliveira and they try to break the race. All this in the absence of 5 km to crown the Alto de la Mozqueta pass.
55 KM | The platoon absorbs the chasing group prior to the first first category ascent to Alto de la Mozqueta. They will be 6.6 km in length at an elevation gain of 8.4%. Now I know that cyclists will start to suffer. The platoon is getting farther and farther and the breakout already takes him 2:50 ”.
58 KM | After finishing the second mountain pass in Alto de Santo Emiliano with 66 km to go, which was won once again by Martin, followed by his teammate Perichon and the INEOS Wurf rider, the peloton continues to move away from the escape, because the Jumbo does not let the rhythm pick up. They are now at 2:47. ”

67 KM | The ascent of the third category port begins towards Alto de Santo Emiliano.
68 KM | The situation is as follows with 68 kilometers to go. The leak already takes 2:32 ” from the squad, which is controlled by the Jumbo Visma, which does not seem to want to press because it does not suit him. In addition, a chasing group of four runners has been formed looking to get into the group in front. These four cyclists are: Formolo, Gasparotto, Marczynski and the Colombian Juan Felipe Osorio, who are at 1:04 ”.
75 KM | The leak crowned the port of third category in Padrn and the first to do so was Guillaume Martin (Cofidis), as expected, followed by Pierre-Luc Perichon (Cofidis) and in third place was Angel Madrazo Ruiz (Burgos BH). This is certainly just a warm-up for what is to come later.
82 KM | Begin the ascent of the first mountain pass towards Alto del Padrn. They will be 3 km long at 6.6%. There is already 1:52 ” difference between the breakout and the platoon.
86 KM | Formolo and Marczynski go out in search of hunting down the escape that is 35 seconds away, while the squad, which commands the Jumbo Visma, is 40 seconds away.
90 KM | Several more cyclists have already joined the flight and there are 20 that compose it. Be careful because yesterday there were 8 who wreaked havoc and the escape managed to crown the goal. So the squad cannot relax and allow them to gain much advantage. For now, on the descent, the average speed is 55 km / h.
102 KM | There are already some escape attempts and Anthony Roux (Groupama – FDJ) and Julius Van Den Berg (Education First) try to escape. Both already take 22 seconds out of the squad.
109 KM | The stage officially starts and now the battle begins. First it will be a long descent of 26 kilometers and then to go up and down in the hard passes that cyclists will face.
8:06 AM | Two kilometers to officially start stage 12 between Laviana – Alto de l’Angliru. Some of the favorites to win are Roglic, Carapaz and Vlasov. We’ll see. For now, the peloton has a long and hard journey ahead of it, despite being the shortest stage of the Tour of Spain.
With a parcours very similar to yesterday, the #NTTPredictor is picking the same favorites for today’s stage: @rogla, @RichardCarapaz Y @ale_vlasov. Who will dominate the Alto de lAngliru and claim victory in @lavuelta today?# lavuelta20 | @GlobalNTTpic.twitter.com/j9TFPITYdu

7:58 AM | There are 3 kilometers left for the real start of the competition. This is just a neutralized ride. Now no one can beat the race director’s red car.
7:54 AM | Today’s stage begins with 109 kilometers ahead. Let’s hope the cyclists give a great show and put our nerves on edge. The start for the moment has been neutralized, but in a few moments the race director waved the flag to start the battle. We’ll see if there will be a leak from the start. The flight was crowned yesterday and, in reality, the emotions on the part of the favorites were in debt.
Short but intense day … Let’s go to stage 12!
It promises to be one of the toughest stages of # LaVuelta20pic.twitter.com/IjSBCMnu0r
? The Return (@lavuelta) November 1, 2020
7:45 AM | The general classification did not undergo many changes and the first three of the general standings. Primoz Roglic (Jumbo Visma), Richard Carapaz (INEOS Grenadiers) and Dan Martin (Israel Start-Up Nation) complete the podium. However, Colombian Esteban Chaves came out of the top 10 and is now fourteenth.
The cyclists of the peloton will face a new leg-breaking stage in the Vuelta a Espaa. After yesterday’s tough stage in which there were three first-class mountain passes, one on the finish line at Alto de la Farrapona, today the effort will be even greater with the arrival at Angliru on the shortest route in whole edition.
Although the 109 kilometers will not be a problem, the large ports that the platoon will find will be. On the way to the final climb, you will ascend Alto de Padrn, Alto de San Emiliano, Alto de la Mozqueta (6.6 kilometers at 8.4%) and Alto del Cordal (5.4 kilometers at 9, 3% average).

Hello, hello to all cycling lovers and, of course, to all those interested in knowing what will happen on stage 12 of the Vuelta a Espaa between Laviana and Alto de l’Angliru, another high mountain and in which expect to see a new fight and, why not, one or another attack of the favorites. Yesterday only looked at the wheels and it was Marc Soler (Movistar) and David Gaudu (Groupama – FDJ) who fought a beautiful battle in the final stretch towards the finish line at Alto de la Farrapona, which ended winning the french. Unfortunately, for Colombia the day was not very positive, considering that Esteban Chaves (Mitchelton-Scott) came out of the top 10 of the general classification and is now fourteenth. However, a lot can happen today so here we go.
