The Mayor’s Office of Barranquilla confirmed in the last hours that the city’s Police canceled a party that was taking place at a nightclub, a place that was temporarily closed.
At the event were soccer players Michael Ortega and Edinson Toloza. The latter shared photos and videos of the party on his Instagram account and they show that none of the attendees were wearing masks.
The coastal portal Zona Cero established that the managers of the disco they had been allowed to hold an event for up to 50 people, but that the authorities realized that there were about 70 citizens present in the place and that is why they canceled the party.
What is striking is that Ortega and Toloza were saved from being fined by the authorities. The appearances were for the owners of the disco, because they did not respect the capacity of 50 people for which they were given permission to open its doors this Friday.
Barranquilla has already exceeded the peak of coronavirus infections and still does not show signs of a major outbreak, but the authorities insist that citizen responsibility and self-care are what will prevent the situation in that region from worsening in a few weeks.
It should be remembered that, on this Halloween weekend, several cities and departments in Colombia have curfews or dry law in order not to generate agglomerations that can generate massive COVID-19 infections.
