In a shocking video that the journalist Johnatan Nieto shared on his Twitter account, it is observed how a man is attacked with a knife by two thieves who wanted to steal his cap in the La Victoria neighborhood, in the south of Bogotá. His name was Deivid Perilla and he died in the violent act.
In the video, recorded this Tuesday, you can see how Perilla is walking down the street and stops to talk to two people who are chasing him. In a matter of three seconds, one of them lunges at him and attacks him. Nieto claimed in his tweet that the young man was only 18 years old and was preparing to be a vigilante. The images of a security camera show how the thief hits him at least five stabs.
The young man runs off, but the thieves chase him and they all leave the picture. After 30 seconds, only two criminals are seen running in the opposite direction.
This fact is added to the case of Osvaldo Muñoz, 41, who was murdered this Thursday in a TransMilenio bus, also for stealing it. The man received a stab in his leg that bled him to death. The mayor of Bogotá rejected this act and offered a reward of 20 million pesos to whoever collaborates with justice and helps catch the assailants.
In the pronouncement, the president launched a controversial phrase. “I do not want to stigmatize, nor was it necessary, to Venezuelans, but there are some immigrants involved in criminality who are making our lives of squares. Here, whoever comes to earn a decent living, welcome, but whoever comes to commit a crime should be deported without contemplation ”. For users on social networks, it is a case of stigmatization of Venezuelans who have left their country to find better opportunities in Colombia.
The District’s figures show that the number of homicides rose in September this year compared to 2019, from 87 to 103 reported cases. Bicycle theft is also an indicator that increased from 671 cases in 2019 to 932 in September 2020. According to the mayor, of the 12 indicators that they review, these 2 have not managed to decrease, on the contrary, they have increased compared to the previous year.
The news program Arriba Bogotá recalled the death of these two people and that of Jose Perdomo, who was also killed in an attempted robbery in the town of Suba.
