Partner of ‘Uriel’ claimed minors who were in the operation area – Investigative Unit

EL TIEMPO exclusively obtained the letter in which a woman, who identified herself as a sentimental partner of alias Uriel, a guerrilla leader killed by the Public Force last weekend, asks for help to rescue her daughter from the area.

This newspaper also established that after a humanitarian mission, two minors were recovered and delivered safely. One of them is the daughter of the guerrilla leader.

Carlos Camargo, ombudsman, appeared at the mission that moved along the San Juan River to hand over one of the children under the age of ten to the person who identified himself as the guerrilla leader’s companion.

The letter is addressed to Luis Murillo, defender of the people of the Chocó region, and in this he assures that minors remained in the area. “I come to you in order to request your mediation to recover my minor daughter who is in a community of the municipality of Medio San Juan. My daughter is one of the minors who was lost after the execution of a Military operation that was carried out today, October 25, 2020. We come to you as the guarantor of human rights and especially of children, “the letter reads.

Sources from the Ombudsman’s Office confirmed to EL TIEMPO, by telephone, that the woman identified herself as a sentimental partner of alias Uriel and mother of the minor under ten years old. In addition, he was presented to the ICBF and that after corroborating their identities and rigorous protocols, two minors were handed over.

There is no further data on the other minor who was in the area.
