Porto beat Olympiacos 2-0 for the second round of Group C of the Champions League at the Estadio do Dragao. Colombian midfielder Matheus Uribe started for the local team and played the 90 minutes, in which he had an acceptable performance, while Luis Díaz was absent due to muscle discomfort in his left leg.
Quickly the Dragons went ahead. At minute 10, Andreas Bouchalakis lost a ball at the start, which Sérgio Oliveira recovered and sent a creeping center to the left, which Rúben Semedo managed to deflect, but the ball ended up at the feet of Fábio Ferreira, who finished first to beat goalkeeper José Sá who could do little before the power of the shot.
After the goal, the game was very even. The two teams played in the middle of the field and tried to do damage from the sides, but they could not find a way to do damage. Porto had greater depth than his rival and generated better goal options, but could not expand the score. Olympiacos for his part, never created danger in the goal guarded by Agustín Marchesín.
For the second half things changed a bit. The Greeks went in search of the tie and tried to put the locals on their own ground, but they did not have the necessary clarity to achieve the equal goal. The Portuguese tried to increase the advantage, but did not have the same offensive momentum as the first half.
Olympiacos seized possession of the ball and began to generate increasing danger to those led by Sérgio Conceicao, who increasingly played further away from the goal guarded by José Sá. Youssef El-Arabi, Mathieu Valbuena and Lazar Randelovic came close to scoring, but lack of definition and defensive solidity prevented them from beating Agustín Marchesín.
With six minutes remaining in the engagement and when Olympiacos was playing on the attack, Porto’s second goal came. Shōya Nakajima filtered a ball on the right for Moussa Marega, who reached the baseline and I send the center to the small area where it arrived Sérgio Oliveira turns upside down, but he has no real power and Sérgio Oliveira has no problem grasping that. and thus sentence the victory.
Colombian midfielder Matheus Uribe had a good commitment. In attack, the midfielder had a deflected shot, while in defense he added six recoveries, four punts and two interceptions. The ‘8’ only missed four passes in the entire commitment and at minute 82 received the yellow card.
