A confrontation between the police and the community of the La Luz neighborhood, in the south of Barranquilla, ended in tragedy this Sunday, after one of the residents was hit by a gunshot in his forehead. Witnesses point out that one of the uniformed men was the one who shot him.

The event, which has shocked the residents of the sector, was presented diagonally to the CAI in the afternoon, in the middle of a patrol procedure, which provoked an argument between the parties and ended up aggravating the situation.
The scene of greatest tension was recorded in a video made by the community and that has been projected on social networks. In it, it can be observed that uniformed men and citizens faced off with fists and kicks. Suddenly, a shot was heard and the man fell.The images and vocabulary in the video can hurt feelings.

One of the uniformed men left the place at that moment, while another colleague puts his hands to his head before what happened. The victim’s relatives came to help him, but the shot was fatal.
In statements he gave this Monday, the commander of the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police, General Ricardo Alarcón, rejected this situation that occurred in the middle of the police actions and added that he will provide the relevant information from the uniformed to investigators.
“The weapons were made available to the Technical Criminal Investigation Corps, which carried out the urgent actions. The full identification of the uniformed men was already provided to the urgent data prosecutor yesterday, ”said the officer.
Alarcón added that the uniformed man will come to answer for both disciplinary and criminal acts. Likewise, was separated from his duties and is being presented before the disciplinary judge and later before the military criminal judge.
