On October 23, a 17-year-old young man living in the north of Bogotá was the victim of a brutal beating. by a group of six youths, who intercepted him in a park in the El Batán neighborhood.
For now, it is known that all the students involved in this event are part of two prestigious schools in the area: Vermont and the English School.
Álvaro Márquez, father of the attacked student, said that his son was incapacitated for 50 days by Legal Medicine due to the severity of the beatings he received and added that his son argues that the only precedent for the attack would have been a friction in the middle of a party in an apartment where all the young people had come together even though they did not know each other.
She said her son was chased into a park and beaten with kicking and bottles. “They were able to follow him in a private vehicle.”
Marquéz says he is surprised by the intolerance of these young people. “Where are the values? They were able, in a premeditated way, to go after a pair to harm them. What I am looking for as a father is for this hidden violence among young people to be made visible ”.
The Bogotá Metropolitan Police also rejected the attack and said that the attackers are already fully identifiedsaid Colonel Angélica Díaz. “The minors involved in the aggression are identified and their judicial process is in charge of the Attorney General’s Office.”
The other two young men who were with the attacked minor fled the park. The family asks for justice.
