The Council of Ministers of Spain approved the state of alarm throughout the country as a measure to stop the second wave of the new coronavirus.

The decree establishes a curfew for the entire Spanish territory that will be in effect between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am, although it gives power to each autonomous community “to advance or delay it one hour,” according to the newspaper ‘El País’.

(We recommend: According to the President of the Spanish Government, ‘actual number of coronavirus infections exceeds three million’).

The decision will take effect from this same Sunday, October 25 and would, in principle, last 15 days. However, Pedro Sánchez, president of the Spanish Government, made it clear that his intention is for it to last six months: until May 9, 2021.

“Not one more day, not one day less (…) In Spain we live an extreme situation and measures are being taken throughout Europe to limit mobility, “said Sánchez.
