In Montería they capture a pastor named for five murders – Other Cities – Colombia

Rubén Darío Obando Martínez was captured this week by the Police at a checkpoint that was located in an exclusive sector of Montería.

According to official records, Obando was the lieutenant of the demobilized Salvatore Mancuso, who during his criminal actions promoted the purchase of land from peasants at low cost with the threat of being killed if they resisted the negotiation.

In one of those hearings, the demobilized Hernando de Jesús Fontalvo Sánchez, alias Pájaro, confessed to several of those crimes and said that Rubén Darío Obando would be one of the determiners of the facts.

He mentioned, for example, the attack against Julio César Saldarriaga, which occurred on May 7, 1993; that of Robinson Castillo Otero, on March 4, 119; that of the merchant Neder Elías Padilla Hernández, on October 9, 1996; of Aldemar Rodríguez Murcia and Rodrigo Manuel Díaz, on September 3, 1997.

After an investigative procedure, the Prosecutor’s Office issued an assurance measure against Rubén Darío Obando, who for several years had been preaching in a Cirstian church in Montería.
