Congressmen from Uribismo insisted this Saturday on the innocence of former Minister Andrés Felipe Arias, despite the position of the Attorney General’s Office that would not favor him.

In the last hours it was known that the accusing entity, in a concept requested by the Supreme Court of Justice, He asked to maintain the conviction for corruption in the case of Agro Ingreso Seguro to the former Uribe minister. The high court studies the conviction on Arias.
Currently, the Attorney General is Francisco Barbosa, whom several sectors identify as close to President Iván Duque, who came to the Presidency of the Republic in 2018 backed by Uribism.

The representative to the Uribista Chamber Edward Rodríguez was respectful of the position of the Prosecutor’s Office and He asked not to “politicize justice or judicialize politics.”

The former minister is awaiting the review that the high court is making of his sentence.
