A minor was struck down by lightning this Friday afternoon in Valledupar, in the middle of a torrential downpour.

Some witnesses reported that the adolescent he was under a tree located on Simón Bolívar Avenue, north of the city, when she was suddenly hit by the electric shock, killing her on the spot.
The victim was 12 years old, apparently of Venezuelan nationality, he was eating with his sister, also a minor, who tried unsuccessfully to save the life of the teenager.
“The two were under the tree, suddenly the lightning was heard, and one of the girls fell immediately from the impact “said a witness who was near the place.

According to versions of the community, the little girl used to frequent this area to beg.
The authorities carried out the technical inspection of the body, however, they have not specified details about this unfortunate event that has the public dismayed.

The event was recorded on video that went viral on social networks. There you can see the minor lying under a tree and next to him you can see a bicycle and his sister crying out for help in an emergency.
The authorities assured that, in case of heavy rains and thunderstorms, the ideal is not to be near trees or metal elements, so they recommend staying inside the houses and with the electrical devices turned off.
