In a house in the town of Kennedy, south of Bogotá, the authorities found the lifeless body of Nayelhy Tahimar Ramírez, a 22-year-old girl of Venezuelan origin. His sentimental partner, a Mexican citizen identified as Armando Ordóñez Castillo, was captured as the alleged material author.
Colonel William Arias, commander of the Kennedy Police, gave details of the crime: “We received the call to the emergency line where manifest the quarrel of a couple inside an apartment. Upon reaching the site, the quadrant hears voices for help, requiring force to enter. There is a scene of a female person who has several stab wounds and no vital signs. Similarly, there is a Mexican national who was carrying a knife and who, apparently, had caused the injuries to this woman.
The man was charged with the crime of aggravated femicide and the legalization of the capture was carried out in a hospital, since at the time of the events he had a wound on his hand.

The case of Nayelhy Tahimar Ramírez is one of many that have occurred during the coronavirus pandemic in the country. As of October 15, 2020, 112 femicides were registered.
Juliana Bazzani, advisor to the Prosecutor’s Office on gender violence, called for prevention by identifying the first outbreaks of violence in a potential aggressor. They begin with insults, humiliations, scenes of jealousy and even control the way they dress, behaviors that can escalate to isolation from family life, withholding of property, beatings and even fatal attacks.
