The project aims to give you visibility to the mission and function of the National Indigenous Guard, to pay tribute to the different indigenous communities that make it up and that are present throughout the Colombian territory.
“Indigenous people are the great environmental leaders of the planet. For centuries they have protected biodiversity and ecosystems, therefore, their struggle must be made visible and their knowledge protected ”, commented on Channel 1, Cony Camelo, manager and director of the project.
In the video you can see How the indigenous people go through the ‘Columbarios’, located next to the Central Cemetery of Bogotá and that in 2009 they were intervened by the artist Beatriz González, with the work Auras Anónimas that honor the victims of the conflict.
The prevailing lyrics of the hymn of the indigenous guard are accompanied by striking images of the minga, the traditions of the communities and their territories, at the same time that they invite “Wield their canes” as a symbol of commitment they have with the preservation of their traditions, peace and justice.
“The wise land, the land thinks, guard guard, force force, guardians of life, guardians of the planet, of this little land, of this land of ours,” declaims one of the choirs of the striking hymn.
“Guardia Fuerza” was relaunched with this video, while the indigenous minga ended its stay in Bogotá after having starred in a Massive concentration in the Plaza de Bolívar, to present their demands to President Iván Duque, with whom they could not meet.
“Indigenous people are the great environmental leaders of the planet. For centuries they have protected biodiversity and ecosystems, therefore, their struggle must be made visible and their knowledge protected, “said Cony Camelo, who also added that,” it is a great moment for the American indigenous union and this song invites the union of the native peoples of the continent. Furthermore, ‘Guardia Fuerza’ teaches us that the value and strength of the collective can never be lost ”.
