Fake chain detector on the Minga and the destruction of coca laboratories

[ad_1]

For a few hours a chain has been circulating on WhatsApp that shows the supposed reason why the indigenous people of the Minga returned to Cauca.

According to the chain, the indigenous people are returned to that department because the police destroyed some cocaine processing laboratories in that department.

As some of our users asked us to verify the veracity of the chain through La Silla’s WhatsApp (+57 318 312452), we passed the Lie Detector to them and found that it is false because it mixes true data with false information.

This is what the message circulating on that network looks like:

According to the chain, the Anti-narcotics Police destroyed 63 laboratories in Cauca and Caquetá.

He says that with the destruction of those laboratories “the ‘narcominga’ was uncovered … they return desperately to their narco-territories.”

However, it does not give any proof of the relationship between the return and the destruction of the laboratories.

Although the operation did exist, there is no causal relationship with the return of the Minga

La Silla consulted with the press office of the Directorate of the Anti-Narcotics Police and told us that the operation against the coca laboratories occurred last Saturday, October 17.

According to the press office, 34 laboratories were destroyed in the municipality of Piedmont (Cauca) and 29 in San José del Fragua, Valparaíso, Puerto Rico and Milan (Caquetá).

Contrary to what the chain says, the same Police say that the laboratories belong to the Carolina Ramírez structure, of the FARC dissidents, which operates in the south of Putumayo but there are indications that it is entering the south of Caquetá.

Piedmont, despite being part of Cauca, is closer to Villagarzón (Putumayo) than to any Cauca municipality, and it also borders Curillo, in Caquetá. In fact, it is an Amazonian municipality and not an Andean one.

The Minga returns to regain strength

The Yanacona senior advisor Ferley Quintero, who belongs to the Cric, told La Silla Vacía that the information from the chain against Minga is false and that they are returning to Cauca to organize and strengthen themselves.

“The Minga returns to talk with the people, to organize the people and to strengthen itself logistically. We have been abroad for 13 days and we must relieve ourselves, “Quintero told us.

Furthermore, Piedmont is very far from Popayán, the capital where La Minga returns, and it would be faster to go directly from Bogotá.

While from Villagarzón to Bogotá there are about 13 hours of highway, according to Google Maps, from Bogotá to Popayán and then from there to Villagarzón there are 19 and a half hours.

Beyond that, if their concern were about the destruction of laboratories, it does not make sense that they return just today Wednesday 21 and not before, especially when the “impeachment” of Iván Duque in the Plaza de Bolívar in Bogotá, the culmination of the movement, it was Monday 19.

We classify the chain that circulates in networks as false because there is no proof that the return of the Minga is related to the destruction of the cocaine laboratories.
