The coup carried out against the criminal structures, within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategy Against Drug Trafficking, was registered in the rural area of the municipalities of Piedmont (Cauca), San José del Fragua, Puerto Rico, Valparaíso and Milan (Caquetá).
A group made up of anti-narcotics intelligence, Jungla commandos, uniformed Criminal Investigation officers, the Florence Anti-narcotics Operational Company, and with the support of the Police Aviation Area, carried out “Operation Resplandor II”. All this device achieved the dismantling of 63 laboratories for the production of cocaine base.
Investigations were able to determine that each of these laboratories had the capacity to produce around one ton of coca base per month, which represents an impact on the logistics chain of organizations dedicated to drug trafficking in a value close to $ 1,683 million.
In addition, the Anti-narcotics Police seized and destroyed 2,664 gallons of liquid supplies (ACPM, gasoline, and sulfuric acid), 1,198 kilos of solid supplies (ammonium sulfate, cement, lime, bicarbonate, and nutrimon), 2,547 kilograms of macerated coca leaf, and 574 kilograms of cocaine base in solution. The judicial proceedings were left under criminal notice at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office based in Mocoa and Florence, the Police reported.
General Jorge Luis Ramírez Aragón, director of the Anti-Narcotics Police, affirmed that this is a forceful blow to the finances of criminal structures.
The authorities recalled that any citizen can report activity or information related to drug trafficking through the Anti-drug line 167.
Operations continue
The National Army located in the last hours six laboratories for the processing of illegal substances in the rural area of Los Cuervos and Las Barrancas, municipality of Tibú, Norte de Santander.
The military report states that these structures would have a monthly production capacity of approximately five tons of cocaine and would belong to the organized armed group GAO-r E-33.
The military operation in the Catatumbo region was carried out jointly with the Colombian Air Force, the National Police and the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation.
The report confirmed the discovery of the laboratories in which they seized a ton and a half of cocaine, 1,100 kilograms of caustic soda, 470 kilograms of coca base paste, 200 kilograms of chopped coca leaf, 4,900 gallons of acetone, 3,350 gallons of gasoline and 470 gallons of sulfuric acid.
Likewise, four artisanal stills, three 15-mouth worms, homemade filters, 44 propane gas cylinders, 66 plastic containers, four power plants, 15 microwave ovens and five electric pumps were found.
“This coca-growing complex was valued at about 8,800 million pesos, an important economic figure that strongly affects the financial scaffolding of the GAO-r E-33 that is used to attack the civilian population and the Public Force,” said the Army .
So far this month, the number one Brigade Against Drug Trafficking and the Vulcano Task Force have managed to locate 13 laboratories for the processing of illicit substances, valued at more than 13,000 million pesos in the department of Norte de Santander.
