National Strike | Claudia López congratulates Minga and protesters for a peaceful day – Bogotá

The Mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, joined the recognition of this, the national strike of October 21, as one characterized by peaceful mobilization.

“Thank you Bogotá and your wonderful citizenship! We had 4 days of mobilizations from Sunday when the minga arrived until today with a totally peaceful national strike. There was no such infiltration, which was just a way of stigmatizing and delegitimizing. We could! We can! Thank you! “, The district president trilled, along with a video.

In the video, López highlighted the role of the Indigenous Minga, which today withdrew from Bogotá.

“The minga gave us an enormous example of civility, social organization and pacifism. It gave us back the Palacio de los Deportes absolutely clean. No, there were no infiltrators from the ELN, neither from the Farc, nor snipers. All of this was a way of trying to stigmatize this social mobilization. And perhaps because of that good example and having applied the protocol, today was a totally peaceful day, “said López, adding that this Wednesday” there was not a pint at TransMilenio, a glass was not broken. The Plaza was totally quiet. Yes we can, if social mobilization is not stigmatized, if the protocol of the Mayor’s Office is applied. ”

This October 21 there were more than a dozen sit-ins, marches and cultural demonstrations in various parts of the capital. Most were concentrated in the Plaza de Bolívar during the afternoon.

Faced with the rumors of infiltrations, the Secretary of the Government, Luis Ernesto Gómez, made special emphasis.

“And the minga was never infiltrated,” he trilled this afternoon.
