Woman attacked in Útica with a machete: they ask that the aggressor be tried for attempted murder. – Bogota

It all happened during a outing made by a group of young people to a farm in the municipality of Útica in the department of Cundinamarca.

One of the plans was to go to see the town. “But at one point my girlfriend felt exhausted and she told me that he wanted to go to the house that was three blocks from where we were, “said the couple of the young woman.

So she is walking towards the place when, from one moment to another, is attacked by a man who came out of the bushes.

The attack on the young woman was violent. “He attacked her with a machete, wounded her head, leg, back, and amputated four fingers of her left hand,” he added.

How could the woman escape to where her boyfriend was to ask for their help. “We were sitting in the square. The images in my head are terrible. I have not been able to recover ”.

With this weapon the young woman in Utica was attacked.

He attacked her with a machete, wounded her head, leg, and back, and cut off four fingers of her hand.

She was quickly transferred to a healthcare center and referred to Bogotá by the severity of injuries. “The most critical thing is that she can lose her hand,” said her partner.

All four of the girl’s fingers were amputated and his friends had to go find them and protect them with ice to save them.

For now it is known that the aggressor was captured by the municipality Police. “The person in flagrante delicto was caught with a blunt weapon,” said Colonel Javier Aya, deputy commander of the Cundinamarca Police, who thanked the community for providing information about the attacker.

The victim’s prognosis is reserved while the young woman’s family awaits the legal medical report so that the captured responds for the crime of attempted homicide and not only for personal injury.

The mayor of Útica, Fabián Linares Triana, said that the community of the municipality is totally dismayed by the violent act that occurred over the weekend. “This is an isolated event. This man was in a drunken state ”.

One of the hypotheses that is handled about the causes of the attack, according to the president, is that the young woman had physical features very similar to a Venezuelan citizen who lives in the municipality and with whom Hernando Melo, the attacker, had differences. “We are asking that this person not be released, it would be a danger to our community. We stand in solidarity with the victim’s family ”.

It was also learned that the aggressor had to be transferred to the hospital after the villagers beat him.
This is the second event in less than a week of attacks against women with blunt weapons.

This attack occurs only five days after the commotion in the country after learning of an attempted femicide with an ax against Ángela del Pilar Ferro Gaitán in the El Redil neighborhood, in the town of Usaquén.

Regarding this case, it is known that the victim is still in the intensive care unit.

Ferro’s family and friends yesterday organized a sit-in in front of the Cardioinfantil Foundation to reject the attack that she was the victim of at the hands of her husband, Miguel Camilo Parra.

The investigation was assumed by the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation through the group of prosecutors of the Life Unit but at the end of this edition there was no knowledge of the capture of the aggressor, Camilo Parra.
