Indigenous people from Vaupés met with vice president

The visit of the Vice Presidency to Vaupés took place in the middle of the journey that the indigenous minga made to travel to Bogotá, in order to meet with President Iván Duque.

The natives moved from their territories to the capital, during the weekend, after they did not agree with the committee that the Government sent to Cali, the first meeting place between the parties.

At the same time, another government commission, led by Miguel Ceballos – commissioner for peace – was sent to Cauca to meet with the natives of that region.

Ceballos confirmed that the tour will begin in Toroto, and will continue with visits to the communities of Páez, Popayán, Silvia, Morales, Timbiquí, Caldono and Puracé.
