As ‘San Miguel Arc Herney El Palomito de Colombia’ a 43-year-old man was called on Facebook who was captured by the Metropolitan Police of Cali, accused of committing alleged sexual abuse of minors and young people in the capital of Valle.
Prayers to San Miguel, allusions to Pope Francis and other supposed religious messages were the facade that this man used in publications of the social network to contact young people, some of them with drug use problems, with the aim of taking them to their home and commit different abuses.
This was revealed by General Manuel Vásquez, commander of the Cali Metropolitan Police, after the capture and subsequent prosecution of the man.

The case was brought to the attention of the Police thanks to the complaints of neighbors for suspicious behavior of this supposed ‘spiritual guide’. According to the alerts, young people constantly entered the man’s apartment and had inappropriate behavior with the children and young people of the residential unit where he lives, in the eight district of Cali.
These warnings led to an investigation by the Police, which began monitoring the man and his behavior on social networks.
The Police corroborated the entry of several minors to the apartment of the ‘Pajarito de Colombia’, as some were even registered on the payroll of the door of their residential unit.
In addition, when the young people were prevented from entering their apartment, the man entered them hidden in his vehicle.
According to the investigation, through his Facebook profile, the man was looking for young people with financial difficulties and drug addiction problems with the excuse of “spiritual help”, but finally he offered them money (up to 70 thousand pesos) and psychoactive substances .
Once he convinced his victims, the man would date them in different places and then drive them to his apartment. Most of the victims are between 15 and 17 years old.
The man must answer for the crimes of commercial sexual exploitation of a person under 18 years of age in a homogeneous and successive contest or facilitation of the media to offer sexual activities with persons under 18 years of age.

The other troubling findings
For the Police it has been highly suspicious that in March of this year, the body of the captured man’s mother was found in an advanced state of decomposition in an apartment in the same residential unit where the false spiritual guide lives.
In addition, in August of this same year, the brother of the captured man was also found in conditions similar to that of his mother in the apartment where he resided, revealed General Vásquez.
These two findings are being investigated by authorities.
