The seven-month-old canine died after jumping from the ninth floor of the Torino building, Miramar neighborhood, in the north of Barranquilla this Saturday morning.

The little dog named ‘Piero’ apparently did not measure the danger of his jumps and threw through one of the windows of the apartment’s living room.

The Metropolitan Environmental and Ecological Police was present at the site.

The investigation of the authorities detailed that the dog accidentally fell when jumping from a sofa to the window and died instantly.

According to the Zona Cero portal, the body of ‘Piero’ was raised by the animal chaplain, Gunter Kook, who transferred it to the canine cemetery in this capital.

Local animal rights organizations affirmed that “the possession of a companion animal requires minimum conditions of space and time, such as patience and affection since it is a living being with needs and depends on human beings to survive.”
