The minga finally has a place to stay in Bogotá

After the national and district governments threw the ball at each other due to the uncertainty about who should take care of the details for the arrival of the indigenous minga to Bogotá, it was the Mayor’s Office that ended up taking over.

After knowing what their route would be, the main issue to define was where the aborigines would be located, taking into account that the place should provide facilities such as toilets, sinks, beds, etc.

Finally, Gómez announced that after a meeting with the advanced delegates of the minga it was agreed that their “biosegura” accommodation will be in the Palacio de los Deportes.

In addition, the official explained that the arrival of the caravan will be anticipated for next Sunday, October 18 and that in their dialogue the indigenous people “committed themselves to peaceful protest and respect for sanitary measures.”
