Further investigation by laboratory found on the farm of former ambassador Fernando Sanclemente – Crimes – Justice

Laureano Martínez Cortés, butler of the estate of the family of the former Ambassador Fernando Sanclemente, in which a laboratory for drug processing was found, he reached an inquiry with the Prosecutor’s Office and took the charges of drug trafficking, conspiracy to commit a crime and false complaint.

However, the Prosecutor’s Office withdrew that preliminary agreement in which the butler only accepted the charges but did not provide information about the others involved in the case.

The first criminal court of Cundinamarca endorsed the request made by the prosecutor Daniel Hernández, who took over the investigation on October 5.

The former ambassador Sanclemente appeared at the hearing, who was credited as a victim in the process, as well as his brother Gilberto Sanclemente Alzate.

The butler, who remains detained at the Martires Police Station, appears in the investigation into the Police operation carried out on the estate of the family of the then ambassador in Uruguay on February 12 where the drug laboratory was found, that apparently was sent to the United States through the El Dorado international airport in Bogotá.

The case was assigned to the new prosecutor who reached a new agreement with the butler who will receive immunity in exchange for handing over information against others involved in the management of the laboratory.

Thus, the Prosecutor’s Office achieved that the initial preliminary agreement that did not imply truth was not given legality and that a principle of opportunity was advanced for the man who would become a witness for the prosecuting body in exchange for immunity.

Sources close to the process indicated that the butler and his defense were given a deadline to present the collaboration matrix and indicate what information they have and against whom they can testify.

You will have an initial year to be a witness in the cases in which you are called against others involved in the case and your breach of your commitment will be processed criminally again.

“It seeks to know the truth of the facts investigated and to know in depth who are the material authors, determinants or funders of these illegal activities,” said the prosecutor in the case.

And he added that the defendant’s defense recognized that he had expressed his intention to collaborate with the previous prosecutors in the case but that there was no response.

The investigating body hopes to expand the hypotheses about the participation in the events of people who have not yet been prosecuted. In other words, it seeks to reach other people other than those already captured.

The prosecutor in the case indicated that the previous person in charge of the investigation made a mistake and it was not taken into account whether the defendant had an increase in assets due to the conduct.

The lawyer Víctor Muñoz, who represents the butler, indicated that his client is willing to tell the whole truth about what happened in the case and that he will comply with the commitments to achieve a principle of opportunity.

The Prosecutor’s Office has already occupied the property and is carrying out the investigation to reach the owners of the laboratory and the people who collaborated with them.
