Dilian Francisca Toro responded to Gustavo Petro about a tweet that the Senator published after learning of the resignations of Roy Barreras and Armando Benedetti from the U Party.

The former governor of Valle said that Petro is promoting a division strategy that is not healthy.

“Gustavo, your strategy to promote divisions is not healthy. The Party of the U is a broad party, with consensus, with different and respectable tendencies,” he said.

This message is a response to the message that the Senator wrote on his Twitter account, in which he stated that now that the U is divided, “one part will go to the Uribe consultation with Dilian as a candidate, another part wants a progressive movement with consultation without vetoes “.

On this, the Valle de Cauca was limited to saying that it is not the time to talk about candidacies, that on the contrary it is time to promote unity for her party.

It is necessary to mention that all this occurs once the resignations of Senators Roy Barreras and Armando Benedetti were known, who announced that despite leaving the U, they maintain their seat.

In fact, Benedetti affirmed that one of the reasons why he leaves the community is the possible arrival of Dilian Francisca Toro to the leadership of the party.

“Dilian Francisca is coming to take the party and he (Roy Barreras) wants to aspire to the Presidency, which is a way of distinguishing himself,” Benedetti said.

And he added that “despite all the disagreements I have had with Roy, which many did not know, I do not agree with the way the Party is leaving. He helped him build, but hey, he has decided that way. because a new political conjuncture is forming in the relationship with the Government. “

It should be remembered that these resignations were presented a few days before the national assembly of the U Party, which will be held on November 7, and in which Dilian Francisca Toro will possibly be elected as director of the community.
