A few hours after Senator Roy Barreras announced his “definitive break” with the ‘U’ party, his colleague and partner Armando Benedetti spoke in the same direction.
“One cannot be in a party that is neither the opposition nor the government, that does not help peace, that does not help basic income, that does not help microenterprises. In that game I think I have leftovers and, therefore, I go calm. I hope they are also very calm and happy that I am leaving ”, said Benedetti.
For some time, both Barreras and Benedetti have been critical of the National Government, despite the fact that the party with which they came to Congress, ‘the U’, declared itself a friend of the Executive more than two years ago.

Some observers have drawn attention to the fact that neither Barreras nor Benedetti have used the word ‘resignation’ in their demonstrations, but have said that they separate from ‘the U’, but that they will retain their seats in the Legislative Assembly.
The ‘U’ party, so far, has not officially ruled on the positions of the two senators.
