There is a curious method to change the font or typeface with which we write our messages on WhatsApp. Follow these cases to achieve it.
All this time at home has given us enough margin to start looking for how improve our experience for use with WhatsApp.
If in parallel we have tried to test some other instant messaging applications like Telegram We will soon discover that the most popular app is actually relatively limited when it comes to customizing the interface.
While others let us alter colors of text, backgrounds, animated stickers and even typography style, WhatsApp does not do it by default.
But for everything there is a solution. For example, there is an easy way to change the font of our app, but for this we need complementary software.
Fonts, the most obvious alternative
Fonts is an app that can be merged with WhatsApp to change the typography of our messages. Using it is very simple, you just have to install it from the Google Play Store for Android or the Apple App Store.
- Then open the Fonts app.
- Select the option to enable the font keyboard.
- Exit and reenter, choose “Switch to Fonts” and leave it as the default keyboard.
For iOS, the logic is the same, granting full access permissions to Fonts once the app is installed. The latter from the configuration menu in the keyboard option.
Then, open WhatsApp and now you can type everything with the Fonts virtual keyboard, where you can change the style of the letter among a wide range of options.
Markdown is safer
For those concerned about the security of their privacy, keyboard plug-ins usually ask for too many smartphone access permissions. Including parallel delicate apps, like those of our bank accounts.
In these cases, if that aspect alarms us, WhatsApp allows you to format the text using the simple language Markdown without installing anything else.
In fact, the app itself in its FAQ section has a complete section dedicated to teaching you how to put your messages in bold, italics and crossed out. In summary:
- For italics you must put an underscore at the beginning and end of the message. Like this: _text_
- For bold women what goes is an asterisk. Thus: * text *
- To cross out, a virgulilla is used. Like this: ~ text ~
And ready. Easier, direct and safe.
