Valle del Cauca journalist Wilson Araque, considered a radio institution, had suffered a stroke from which he could not recover.
Friends, relatives and members of the local and departmental government lamented the death of the communicator born in Tuluá.

The death of Wilson Araque González has Colombian journalism in mourning.
A stroke, suffered on October 8, which subsequently had it in
coma, ended up turning off his life.
On Saturday, his son Mauricio Araque confirmed that the communicator had undergone a surgical intervention and his death was presented at 5:30 pm at the Nuestra Clinic.
After knowing the news about the death of Araque, immediately, personalities from politics and journalism spoke out through social networks.

“Sad the departure of Wilson Araque, communicator and fighter of a thousand battles. I express my condolences to his family and friends”, expressed in the same social network the mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina.
The writer Gustavo Álvarez Gardeazábal lamented the death of the communicator, whom he considered one of his “bishops.”
“At the Nuestra clinic, in Cali, where he had been hospitalized since the previous day due to a stroke, Wilson Araque González died, a renowned journalist from Valle del Cauca who served as Press Office during my tenure as governor. One more of my bishops leaving“, published the writer from Valle del Cauca.

Rosemberg Téllez, renowned journalist and event presenter, worked with Araque for more than eight years, and remembers him as a “strict and very professional” person. In addition, he considered it as a school of journalism. “Those who had the opportunity to work with him can assure you that they really learned about this trade”, adds Téllez.
Araque’s journalistic life began at a very young age in Tuluá and was part of a generation of talents that began to shine in the Valle del Cauca media.

Araque started working at Caracol, then went to Todelar, where years later he was director of the newscast. He had spent at least four decades on the radio. In the last five years, he directed the newscast Mediodia Noticias, on the Univalle Estéreo station.
