On video, the moment of a fatal accident that outraged Chia and Cundinamarca was recorded. It is about the moment when the driver of a van runs over a cyclist, when he advances on the vehicular bridge of the Bogotá-Tunja road, at kilometer 6 + 290 in the Caro sector in Chía. The impact is such that the victim is thrown off the bridge and lies on the road.

In the video you can see how the van continues on its way and escapes. Above, the cars stop next to the bicycle, and below, other drivers stop to see what happened to the man.
This happened in Chia on Friday. The cyclist’s name was José Antonio Duarte and unfortunately he died. The murderer, who shamelessly escaped at the time, has already been captured. * Sensitive images * pic.twitter.com/tnk0HcfqSA

The Cundinamarca Traffic Police confirmed that the accident occurred on Friday and that the person died at the La Sabana Clinic.
And, a few minutes ago, the Government of Cundinamarca identified the cyclist as José Antonio Duarte Leiva.
“To his family, our embrace of solidarity. We have the information that the murderer has been identified, located, captured and made available to the competent authorities. We will be aware of this process so that the person pays for what he did,” he said. Nicolás García, Governor of Cundinamarca.
However, as confirmed by the Governor, the man “was released because he was not found in flagrante delicto”.
Although the man, detained in Sopó, will continue to be linked to the process, he will do so in freedom and not under security measures.
I have asked government officials to accompany the cyclist’s family in everything that is required, who unfortunately died in the clinic. Since @CundinamarcaGob We will give you all the advice regarding the complaint and process against the driver. THERE MUST BE JUSTICE!
