The former attorney general of the nation Eduardo Montealegre, requested that copies be certified against President Iván Duque, for alleged interference in the process against former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez.
During the appeal of the 30th judge’s decision that ordered the release of former President Uribe, former prosecutor Montealegre, He said that he had some videos that he wanted to present at the hearing, and that supposedly demonstrated that interference.

The former head of the accusing body indicated that as part of his argument he will deliver those videos to the second instance.
Montealegre also asked that the freedom granted to Uribe Vélez be revoked and questioned that the judge in the case with her decision declared the nullity of what the Supreme Court had acted so far.
He noted that from his confinement site the former president tried to obstruct the process. And that President Duque with public statements calling for Uribe’s freedom, exceeded his duties.

Montealegre questioned the judge’s decision and pointed out that it affected the rights of the victims, “violated the objective order of the Constitution” and “distorted all the precedents of the Courts regarding the nature of the investigation.”
He also indicated that he would even go to international bodies to request the protection of his rights.
The lawyer Reynaldo Villalba, also appealed the decision and in addition to requesting that Uribe’s freedom be revoked, he maintained that the prosecutor in the case should be investigated for the questions he made during the hearing of the investigation made to the investigated in the Investigation Chamber court.
