Coronavirus in Colombia: cases and deaths October 8 – Health

This Thursday the Ministry of Health delivered a new report on the situation of the coronavirus in Colombia. The report confirms 8,496 new infections after processing 42,155 tests. With this figure, the country reaches a total of 886,179 cases.

Also, the health authority confirmed 151 new deaths. Of this number, 131 belong to previous days. The total number of deaths from covid-19 rises, then, to 27,331.

As for the recovered patients, there are already 777,658 Colombians who have managed to overcome the coronavirus. On the other hand, the confirmed active cases are 79,218.

In the last hours, Antioquia was the department that most registered new infections. He leads the table with 1,941; Bogotá is in second place with 1,254; Valley with 757; Risaralda registers 375 and Cundinamarca 374.

Worldwide, 36,194,764 people have been infected with coronavirus and 1,053,961 have lost their lives due to covid-19. On the other hand, the number of recovered in the world amounts to 25,295,543.
