The violent murder of a dog in Tuluá, committed by a professional soldier of the National Army, will be investigated by the group of the Attorney General’s Office that works on crimes related to animal abuse.
Prosecutor’s Office personnel are already gathering evidence on the case that has unleashed great indignation in Tuluá and El Valle.
Among the tests is the soldier’s medical history, and the psychiatric evaluation carried out by Legal Medicine.
But, the prosecutor in the case does not rule out bringing the military man to court to formulate the charges.
The events occurred last Sunday at the military’s place of residence. Authorities arrived in the area and found the man out of control, while his mother was passed out.
The first hypothesis shows that the dismemberment of the animal was recorded with a sharp weapon and bites.
The deputy of Valle for the Alianza Verde party, Catherine Morales, asked the Prosecutor’s Office for speed in investigating the animal abuse that occurred during the weekend.
“Violence is intolerable under any of its expressions and that is how we consider it from this seat that is committed to respect for all forms of life, but it is even more serious when that violence is exercised against defenseless beings.”
The deputy’s account states that the canine “was torn by a subject with his teeth and hands. The alleged murderer is an active member of the National Army and was on leave.”
The dog, a pinscher breed, belonged to the man’s mother, who was caught in flagrante delicto.
“The body was found dismembered, its parts had to be transferred in eight plastic packaging bags, and it was also reported that her sexual organs were not found,” says the communication from the deputy.
Mayor Wilson Remolina, head of the Tuluá Environmental Police, told El País that the case was known through citizen complaints that warned of a “crazy” person in the home.
“Due to his high degree of aggressiveness, this person had to be subjected to a taser gun, Remolina said.
The case also prompted measures in the Army. General Eduardo Zapateiro, commander of the National Army, reproached the case and said that he will not tolerate cases of animal abuse between members of the public force.
“The member of the Force, who was on leave in Tuluá, Valle, was captured by the Police, and placed at the disposal of the authorities, who will determine the circumstances of time, manner and place of what happened, as well as individual responsibility. After the report on what happened by the unit, the process began according to the Law, for the removal of the uniformed from the Institution. We reiterate our complete disposition with the competent authorities to facilitate the investigations, “wrote the General in Twitter
